Book Summary:

Don’t Gamble with Your Future. Nearly two-thirds of the adult population in the United States gambled in the past year. For some, this represented a casual bet or a whimsical wager on winning the lottery. But for a significant and growing portion of the population, gambling isn’t recreation–it’s life. Many believe that Christians are unlikely to become enslaved by gambling. Yet research indicates that Christians are drawn to gambling at the same rate as others. In Turning the Tables on Gambling, you’ll explore the answers to questions such as: • What is my risk of becoming addicted to gambling? • Is playing the lottery or making a casual wager harmless? • At what point does gambling become destructive? • If gambling is a problem for me or someone I know, what can I do? With solid insight, personal anecdotes, and practical help, Dr. Gregory Jantz describes why people of all ages and backgrounds are lured into gambling and how freedom form this destructive behavior can be found. INCLUDES GAMBLING PERSONALITY QUESTIONNAIRE!

Book Summary:

You know how the saying goes: turnabout is fair play. That means it's time for boyfriend to bend over. These four stories all feature women who might not wear the pants in the relationship, but who do take a turn wearing the cock. Whether it's the woman taking a turn receiving a blow job or otherwise taking charge in the bedroom, once you slide on a strap-on, power dynamics change. And that's just what these tales examine, with all the steamy consequences. Zara's husband David, one of the twin heads of a premier biotech company, may not quite be what he seems. His violent history, long suppressed with a neural implant, is re-emerging in strange ways, and he-or his twin brother-may be "Double Dealing" with their identities. It will take cleverness, courage, and the services of a world class hacker to untangle the web of deception around the brothers Gemini. Then, is it happily ever after for William and Jenny... and her husband, Alex? Will knows he's loved, but he's still the third wheel in a married couple's household. It's up to Jenny and Alex to prove to him that his place in their hearts has the "Permanency" he desires. Shammara might be the princess of a magical kingdom, but her royal duty to submit to her chosen suitor is a distasteful one, literally. So she does what any girl will do when her father, the king, is murdered and her future kingdom is overrun by her uncle's evil minions: she flees into the mountains with the aid of a loyal and besotted guardsman to become queen of a tribe of Amazons, turning the "Phallusy" of male magical superiority right on its head as she fights to reclaim her crow. Obviously. Finally, Captain James Wilmington survives the wreck of his ship and the loss of most of his crew, only to find himself rescued-and imprisoned-aboard a pirate corsair. Held at the mercy of the lady pirate Faisal, whose allure and charms ensnare him, Captain Wilmington soon finds himself transitioning from a captive hostage to "Your Most Humble and Obedient Servant."

Book Summary:

Teresa Giudice, star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, has seen it all but nothing could compare to the media firestorm that ensued after she was convicted on federal fraud charges—and sentenced to fifteen months in prison. What was a skinny Italian to do? Keep a diary, of course… In her very first tell-all memoir, Teresa comes clean on all things Giudice: growing up as an Italian-American, starting a family, dealing with chaos on national television, and coming to terms with the reality of life in prison. Featuring scans from her coveted prison diary, Turning the Tables captures some of the most memorable moments of her stay, including the fights she witnessed, the awkward conundrum of being trapped when a fellow inmate had a…guest…over, and the strength she found while confined between four concrete walls. Now with an exclusive bonus chapter, Teresa reflects on the days following her December 2015 release, and the heart-wrenching weeks leading up to the night she had to say good-bye to her husband, Joe…who has left to serve his own prison sentence. Even at her lowest of lows, Teresa was able to live la bella vita by staying positive and realizing her purpose. Friends, foes, and fans have speculated about Teresa’s life off-camera, but nothing will prepare you for the revelations she makes in this entertaining and ultimately heartwarming memoir.

Book Summary:

Does apologetic method matter? Helmut Thielicke argues that the method should conform to its own message. He thus rejects traditional apologetic methodologies beholden to supposedly neutral scientific and philosophical paradigms. Seeking to reform Christian conversation, Thielicke discovers a lost way of persuasion, that is, the table-turning approach found in Christ’s conversations. Whenever Jesus is questioned, he seldom answers directly. For he refuses to allow the conversation to be framed by an autonomous mindset, and instead responds with a counterquestion. Christ’s style of persuasion—as the controller of the question—subverts his hearers’ presuppositions and challenges their unbelief. This approach is the reverse of the defensive, answer-giving mode of traditional apologetics. In view of renewing Christ’s method, Thielicke insists that the task of apologetics is “something which is always on the offensive and, far from giving ready-made answers to the doubtful questions of men, turns the tables by putting questions on its own account—aggressive, violent, radical questions—and striking straight to the hearts of men.” Christian conversation must integrate Christ’s method with his message in order to advocate the message itself. For it is not the world that questions Christ, but rather Christ questions the world.
